How we handle your information

Short version: we keep what we need to do what you asked, and nothing else.

Draft. This page must be reviewed by the church before launch. Requirements differ depending on where donors live — US state law, UK and EU GDPR, and Canadian PIPEDA all apply to an international congregation.

What we collect

When you send a message we keep your name, email, phone number if you give one, and what you wrote. When you make a gift we also keep your address, the amount, the fund you chose and any note you added, because charitable receipts require it.

What we never collect

This website does not take card numbers, CVV codes or bank account details, and it never will. Payment is completed on our payment provider's own secure system, and those details are never stored on this site or in the church's database.

What we do with it

We use it to reply to you, process your gift, send your receipt and produce your annual giving statement. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone outside the church other than the payment provider handling your transaction.

Prayer requests

Requests are shared with the prayer team unless you tick the private box, in which case only the pastoral team sees them.

How long we keep it

Giving records are held for as long as tax law requires. Messages are cleared once they have been dealt with, unless they are part of ongoing pastoral care.

Your rights

Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@example.org and we will respond within thirty days.
